Kits ship to addresses in the United States. Your kit will be shipped within 1–2 business days of your order, to the shipping address entered at checkout, and we email you when your kit is on its way.
Shipping both ways is included. Your shipping email includes a prepaid USPS return label; reuse the mailer your kit came in, seal it (add packing tape if the flap doesn’t hold) and tape the new label over the old one. Kits go out by USPS Ground Advantage, which takes 2–5 business days each way. At checkout you can switch both legs to USPS Priority Mail (1–3 business days each way) for $16.
Please double-check your shipping address before you pay. Your order confirmation email shows the address we’ll ship to. If anything is wrong, reply to that email right away.
If your kit has already shipped to the wrong address, use “Wrong shipping address?” on the tracking page. Because the order has already shipped, there’s a $25 reshipping fee to send another kit to an updated address, which you pay there. This is available once per order.
Once the lab has your samples, results take up to 3 business days. Faster results are optional at checkout: 2 business days (+$4 per sample) or 1 business day (+$7 per sample). We post the lab report as soon as we receive it. Timing can run longer around holidays, or if the sample form hasn’t been filled in: the lab needs to know what each numbered bag holds before it can analyze it. We email you when the report is posted, and you can open it anytime on the tracking page with your order email and order number.
You can cancel your order for a full refund any time before your kit ships. On the tracking page, enter your order email and order number and tap Request cancellation, or reply to your order confirmation email. We start preparing your order as soon as you place it and kits ship within 1–2 business days, so please ask as soon as you can. We refund the full amount to your original payment method, and refunds usually show on your statement within 5–10 business days.
Once your kit has shipped, all sales are final and we don’t accept returns. If the lab can’t analyze a sample you sent (for example, there’s too little material in the bag, or it’s a material the method doesn’t cover), we’ll tell you and you can send another sample of that material at no charge within the return deadline; we’ll email you a new prepaid return label.
Please mail your samples back within 90 days of delivery. After that, the prepaid return label and lab analysis included with your kit are no longer guaranteed. The kit tests solid building materials only, not air, dust or loose-fill insulation.
If something in your kit arrives damaged or missing, email us within 14 days of delivery.
